About On the Register

On the Register is for anyone in the UK weighing up a weight loss clinic or an online pharmacy who wants to know whether it is genuinely registered before they hand over personal or health details. Every provider we list is matched to a public record held by a UK regulator.

Right now we list 722 registered providers: 573 in person clinics and 149 online pharmacies and doctors.

Listings are matched to the registers of the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) and Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW). Each listing shows the registration number, the regulator and the date we last checked it, and links to the live register entry. How we verify providers explains the method and its limits.

A public, read-only MCP endpoint is available at /api/mcp. It exposes the public directory and maths tools, with no write actions. A plain text summary of the site for AI systems is at /llms.txt. The data report is published under CC BY 4.0, so you can reuse it with attribution.
