Common questions

What is the Wegovy dose schedule?
A fixed 16-week step-up: 0.25 mg once weekly for weeks 1 to 4, then 0.5 mg (weeks 5 to 8), 1 mg (9 to 12), 1.7 mg (13 to 16), and 2.4 mg as the maintenance dose from week 17. Each step is 4 weeks.
When do I increase my Wegovy dose?
Every 4 weeks, following the 0.25 → 0.5 → 1 → 1.7 → 2.4 mg steps, until you reach the 2.4 mg maintenance dose or the highest dose you tolerate. Your prescriber can slow this down if you get side effects.
What is the 7.2 mg Wegovy dose?
7.2 mg is an optional higher maintenance dose for weight management, used only if needed and only after at least 4 weeks on 2.4 mg. It’s given as one 7.2 mg injection or three 2.4 mg injections, depending on the pen.
Which FlexTouch pen do I order?
Each pen is a single strength and covers 4 weekly doses, so each 4-week step needs one pen of that strength. The tool shows an order-by date a week ahead.
What if the dose makes me feel sick?
The SmPC allows delaying a step-up, or dropping back to the previous dose, if gastrointestinal symptoms are significant. Speak to your prescriber. The schedule here is the standard one, not a rule you must follow.
