Common questions

When do I increase my Mounjaro dose?
The licensed schedule is 2.5 mg once weekly for the first 4 weeks, then 5 mg. After that, the dose can be increased in 2.5 mg steps, with at least 4 weeks on each, up to a maintenance dose of 5, 10 or 15 mg (15 mg is the maximum). Your prescriber decides your pace and your maintenance dose.
What is the Mounjaro dose chart?
2.5 mg (weeks 1 to 4) → 5 mg → 7.5 mg → 10 mg → 12.5 mg → 15 mg, each step at least 4 weeks apart. Many people settle at 5, 10 or 15 mg rather than going all the way up.
Which KwikPen do I order?
Each KwikPen is a single strength and holds 4 weekly doses, so a 4-week step needs one pen of that strength. The tool shows an order-by date a week ahead so a delivery doesn’t leave you short.
Do I have to reach 15 mg?
No. 5, 10 and 15 mg are all licensed maintenance doses. Your prescriber sets the dose that works for you, and may keep you lower or move more slowly, especially if you get side effects.
What if I get side effects when stepping up?
The SmPC says a step-up can be delayed, or the dose dropped back, if gastrointestinal symptoms are significant. Talk to your prescriber. This tool shows the standard schedule, not a rule you must follow.
