The UK weight-loss provider register

Who is registered to supply weight-loss medicine in the UK, and who is not. The registered side is counted live from our directory; the grey market is measured from our own discovery analysis. A factual reference, not a ranking and not medical advice.

The headline

  • We list 722 registered providers, each matched to a regulator record: 573 in-person clinics and 149 online pharmacies and doctors.
  • In our discovery analysis (27 October 2026), 647 unregistered seller sites offered research or injectable compounds, against 225 registered clinics that provide any such category: sellers outnumber clinics.
  • Only 3 registered clinics provide a genuine research-peptide category. Registered UK providers barely touch the grey market.

The register today

These figures are counted live from our directory, which lists only providers we can match to a public regulator record (CQC in England, GPhC for pharmacies across Great Britain, HIS in Scotland, HIW in Wales). See how we verify. Counted on 3 November 2026.

CQC rating, for CQC-registered providers

The CQC rating is a regulator judgement, not a review, and some providers are registered but not yet rated.

53 of the 722 providers print a doctor’s GMC number on their own site that we were able to check on the GMC register.

The grey market we do not list

Register-first listing shows only what is small and clean. The larger market is the sellers we hold back, which a directory cannot responsibly list. We measured it by re-mining our discovery crawl (12,610 pages across 4,730 sites) with a 116-compound vocabulary and an automated provides-or-mentions judgement. As of 27 October 2026:

  • Of 792 registered clinics we assessed, 673 had a usable website; 119 had no website or only a thin one.
  • 351 registered clinics mention at least one injectable-peptide category, but only 225 actually provide one, and just 3 provide a genuine research peptide.
  • 647 unregistered seller sites in the same crawl offer research, bioregulator or injectable compounds. These are never listed: in the UK, advertising a prescription-only medicine to the public is banned, and the MHRA acts against unlicensed sellers.

The contrast is the story. Weight-loss medicine has a clean, regulated supply chain you can check; research peptides are a grey market of sellers you cannot. Read are peptides legal in the UK and how to spot an illegal seller.

Method

  • The register today is counted from our live directory on 3 November 2026. We list only providers matched to a public regulator record; the counts move as the register and our matching change.
  • The grey market figures are from our discovery analysis of 27 October 2026, re-mining a crawl of 12,610 pages across 4,730 sites. They are a dated snapshot, not a live count, because the public site does not expose the held-back and seller records.
  • We reviewed more than 1,800 businesses and left out over 1,000, most often because we could not match a registration (472) or the business does not offer a relevant treatment (396). See how we verify.
  • No prices appear here. Figures count providers and sites, never medicines.
