Terms of Service

The agreement for using On the Register. In short: we give you factual reference and tools; we don't give medical advice, and clinical decisions stay between you and your prescriber.

Agreeing to these terms

By using On the Register you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. They work alongside our Privacy policy and Disclaimer, which form part of this agreement.

What the service is

On the Register is a factual reference: it matches UK weight-loss providers to their public registration and provides maths and reference tools. It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, not a recommendation of any provider or medicine, and not an advertisement for any prescription-only medicine. See the Disclaimer for the detail, and How we verify for how our data is sourced.

Who can use it

The site is intended for people in the UK and for use by adults (18 or over). Information here is framed around UK regulation and the NHS.

Your account

You don’t need an account to use the directory or the tools. If you create one, keep your sign-in secure, give accurate information, and use it only for yourself. You’re responsible for activity under your account. During the private beta, access is limited and we may decline or end accounts at our discretion.

The tracker

The tracker records what you enter — the schedule you were prescribed, doses, supply and diary notes. It is a record-keeping tool. It does not set, change or recommend a dose; it does not assess symptoms; and it is not a substitute for your prescriber or the medicine’s leaflet. Always follow the advice of the clinician who knows your health. In an emergency call 999, or NHS 111 for urgent advice.

Acceptable use

  • Don’t misuse the service, try to break its security, or access data that isn’t yours.
  • Don’t scrape, copy or resell our data except as any licence we publish allows.
  • Don’t use the assistant or any tool to solicit a prescription, a dose, or a source for an unlicensed medicine.

Accuracy and availability

We work from the regulators’ public registers and providers’ own websites, and we show when each record was last checked — but registrations, services and prices change, so always check a provider on the public register before you act. The service is provided “as is”; we don’t guarantee it will always be available, complete or error-free.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence). Subject to that, we’re not liable for decisions you make from the information here; those decisions are yours and your prescriber’s.

Our content

The site, its design and its original content are ours or our licensors’. Public-register facts are used under the registers’ own terms. Any dataset we publish for reuse will say so and on what terms.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; we’ll change the date at the top when we do. Questions: hello@ontheregister.co.uk. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
