The Independent Nurse

I have a bit of an irritation so fear of blood draws, that is now gone! Best nurse I’ve been to, no dramas. Highly recommend especially to anyone who has a bad time with needles/blood draws.

Outstanding support from my initial enquiries with Jack, to my appointment with Lisa who was amazing. Venesection required and I do not bleed easy, however Lisa put me at my ease and performed the procedure with no issues at all. Everything was fully explained before, during and after the blood draw, with information on possible side effects and contact points if any occur. I recently had my blood work done with Lisa, and she is absolutely incredible. To be honest, I've always had a really tough time getting my blood taken; past draws were stressful and often a struggle, leading to multiple attempts to draw my blood. Lisa totally changed that for me. She was so calm, walked me through everything, and had amazing technique. Now, I go in and have no issues at all. She's seriously the best, and I'd recommend her to anyone who needs blood work or nursing requirements done.

I underwent surgery on 07.02.25 which required the use of a catheter. Recklessly removed by NHS staff immediately after the day hospital operation, I had to return to the emergency room that same evening to have it urgently reinserted. Kept throughout the weekend, I thought on Monday it would be removed at the same place where it had been inserted, but instead I was rescheduled for the following Friday due to staff shortages. This is where Lisa came into the picture—contacted the same evening, she responded promptly, giving me all the necessary instructions for removal the next day at her practice. Arriving on time, I was equally punctually welcomed by Lisa and a university student who, in an extremely professional and meticulous manner, explained the entire procedure to follow and the precautions to take in the following hours. The catheter was removed impeccably, with no side effects, and in the following days, I recovered naturally, always staying in contact with Lisa and benefiting from her reassurance. I hope not to meet Lisa again, only because it would mean that I am well, but otherwise, I cannot imagine anyone more professional and attentive than her. Highly recommended
