FOX04-DRI

Research use

Senolytic peptide (experimental)

Last updated 29 October 2026

FOXO4-DRI is an experimental peptide studied as a senolytic, meaning something that clears out old, worn out cells. The research is preclinical, in the ageing field. It is not a licensed medicine in the UK.

Key points

  • FOXO4-DRI is a designed peptide studied for removing senescent cells, the aged cells that build up over time.
  • Clearing these cells is an active idea in ageing research.
  • All the evidence is from cells and animals, not human trials.
  • It is not a licensed medicine in the UK and is sold only for research use.

How it works

As we age, some cells stop dividing but do not die, and these senescent cells can release signals that harm nearby tissue. FOXO4-DRI is designed to nudge these particular cells into dying, while sparing healthy ones. In mice this has been linked to signs of improved ageing. Whether it is safe or useful in people is untested.

What the evidence shows

The evidence is preclinical, mainly a well known mouse study and related laboratory work. There are no human trials, no established dose, and no safety data in people.

What it does not settle

  • There are no human trials of benefit or safety.
  • There is no established human dose.
  • Triggering cell death carries risks that are not understood in people.

Side effects

Less common but serious

  • A peptide designed to trigger cell death could affect healthy cells in ways not understood in humans.
  • Because there is no licensed product, the dose, purity and contents of material bought online cannot be verified.

Report any suspected side effect through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme.

UK legal status and access

FOXO4-DRI has no UK marketing authorisation, so it is not a licensed medicine and is not offered by registered clinics or pharmacies. It is sold online as a research chemical.

Common questions

What is FOXO4-DRI?

An experimental peptide studied for clearing out old, worn out cells as part of ageing research.

Does it work in people?

The evidence is from mice. There are no human trials, so its effects and safety in people are unknown.

The licensed route

For concerns about ageing, a registered clinician can advise on proven, sensible steps. The best evidenced ones remain sleep, activity, diet and not smoking.

Factual reference only, not medical advice. We give no dosing for unlicensed compounds.
